Puzzled! is a jigsaw puzzle you play in a browser, alone or with other people at the same time. It is free, there is no account required to play, and there is nothing to download.
Most online jigsaw sites work, and most of them are unpleasant to use — buried in adverts, built on interfaces that have not been touched in a decade, and strangely bad at the one social thing a jigsaw is naturally good at. Doing a puzzle with someone is the point. It should not require an account, an install, or a tolerance for pop-ups.
The pieces are cut mathematically rather than drawn: a seed and a grid size produce a jittered lattice of interlocking shapes, so no two puzzles are cut alike and the piece shapes never have to be sent over the network. Every neighbouring pair shares one edge by construction, which is why pieces always fit and seams never appear.
Multiplayer runs on a shared database rather than a server that has to be kept awake, so a game is live the instant someone opens the link and costs nothing while nobody is playing.
The photo library comes from Pexels, whose photographers make their work freely available. Every photo credits its photographer and links back to them. The bundled artwork is original to this site.
Puzzled! is run by one person. If you would like to help keep it going, there is a membership that removes the adverts and unlocks larger puzzles and your own pictures, and a tip jar for anyone who would rather just leave a one-off tip. Neither is necessary — the game stays free and complete either way.
