Seasons jigsaw puzzles

Seasonal pictures are worth their own category because the season decides the difficulty. Autumn is the easiest subject in this entire library — a canopy of turning leaves gives every single piece a distinct colour and shape. Snow is close to the hardest, for exactly the inverse reason. Two pictures of the same lane, six months apart, are not remotely the same puzzle.

How to approach them

Autumn is the easiest season to assemble and winter the hardest, for the same reason in both cases: leaf litter is maximum variation and snow is minimum. A spring or summer scene sits in between and depends almost entirely on how much sky the photographer left in. Choose by the amount of texture, not by the month.

Difficulty: Autumn is very easy. Snow scenes are among the hardest here. Every picture here is graded automatically by how much its neighbouring pixels differ, rather than by subject — why that is the thing that matters.
